Health Benefits of Lifestyle Activities
Many Americans are aware of the fact that standard physical activity promotes good
health. According to the 1996 report on physical activity and health by the Surgeon General revealed that only 1/5
of the nation’s population are active enough to obtain heath benefits. Despite the fact that benefit of normal
exercise as well reported there was little study to compare the effects as they related to a variety of
physical activities. Yet through two different reports from the AMA
Journal in January 1999, finding in random scientific assessment revealed that certain standards of living and
controlled exercise had similar types progress in conditions.
Lifestyle Activity vs Regular Activity
Everyday activities, such as walking can be fun
and provide long term health benefits.
One particular assessment by Dr. Andrea Dunn, PH.D, at the Cooper Institute for
Aerobics research, handled that 235 inactive fairly overweight men and women of ages 35-60, divided into two groups
based on a lifestyle activity and/or regular activity program in a six month period.
All the individuals in the lifestyle activity group performed aerobic exercises
for 20-60 minutes per day for five days a week and trained in cognitive and behavioral policies to assist in
bodybuilding activities for at least 30 minutes per day.
Lifestyle Activities Long Term Benefits
Following the month study of the structured physical activity group, they improved
their heart and breathing health almost twice the amount of the lifestyle group, however ending the 2 year period
both groups heart and breathing health were at the same levels.
While each group showed good improvement in both diastolic blood pressure and body
fat percentages the total ratios of cholesterol levels to high density cholesterol level
ending the first 6 months of the 24 month period. But after the 18 months follow period both groups fitness
levels decreased however a larger decrease was present in fitness and a significant increase in weight gain the
structured training group than in the lifestyles activity group. This study recommended the activity routine the
structured training group was not sustained successfully as in the lifestyle group.
Everyday Activities Can Improve Your Health
By including a reasonable stage of everyday physical activity throughout your
normal daily routine could be a method of attaining some a regular exercise regimen. Since normal fitness training
has a health advantage of 22% of regularly active Americans, means it’s not necessary to perform strenuous training
to be physically healthy. Normal everyday activities are simply fun to do and can be a part of a daily fitness
routine such as walking or jogging an extra 10-15 minutes a day, can greatly improve your physical health as well
