It should be noted that many addicts have had great success with both the 12 step program and the non 12 step program. The decision for which program largely comes down to the individual and their willingness to quit their addiction. If you know someone who is looking to deal with their addictions then you will be best served if you do plenty of research on the many different programs available before they undertake a particular path. The sole responsibility of overcoming addiction relies on the willingness of the addict and it is vital that they have a true desire to give up their addictions, there is always more than one option and if one doesn’t work then you should encourage them to move on to another until they find success and can become addiction free.
