One of the worst things about living with any long-term or chronic disease apart from the health issue itself is the feeling of isolation and the fear of being alone. Although Vitiligo is not a fear to life but it surely is a counted danger for your social life as thought by many people!

It is a clear fact that a person’s worth is often measured on criteria of physical appearance and since white patches of vitiligo can not make a person look any attractive, sure it is a dent on person’s physical appearance leading to the fear of left alone, abandoned or neglected. Vitiligo comes with loneliness, isolation on top of fear. It is a common observation that a person suffering from vitiligo feels different to all friends and family and thinks that one by one, his friends are disappearing off the radar. But let me tell you that it is just your mind! A real friend/ partner can not care more about your appearance then about your heart. The color of your heart is more important to a friend then your skin. I have Vitiligo for 20 years now. I won’t deny to the fact that it has caused me a lot of stress but I overcome this fear by realizing that the real person inside me is more important and I should not hide it at any cost. I am leading a happy life now with many true friends around me who can’t care more about my physical appearance. Remember A True Friend Cares For Color Of Your Heart Rather Than Skin.
